Student Halls Near London Metropolitan University

London Metropolitan University teaches most of its courses at its Holloway campus on Holloway Road (N7 8DB), right by Holloway Road tube station. Art, architecture and design students have been based at the Aldgate site in east London, so check your timetable before you choose where to live. A room that’s handy for Holloway can be a long trip to Aldgate, and the other way round.

Below are the rooms we can offer you now, with real journey times from the TfL journey planner for a weekday morning, door to door.

The North Camden residence is about 28 minutes from the Holloway campus on a single bus: the 393 runs from near the residence along Holloway Road, so there’s no changing and no tube.

It’s a big building with a café and lounges downstairs, which helps in the first few weeks when you don’t know anyone yet. The rooms are en-suite studios with their own kitchenette. There’s an accessible studio for wheelchair users, a premium studio with bunk beds for sharing, and suites with two beds and a spare room.

Our Walthamstow residence and the Blackhorse Road residence are next to each other in E17, a few minutes’ walk from Blackhorse Road station. Take the Victoria line to Finsbury Park, change to the Piccadilly line, and Holloway Road is two stops later. Door to door it’s about 26 to 27 minutes.

Both have large single en-suite rooms with a ¾ double bed, a desk and plenty of storage. Walthamstow is one of the more affordable parts of London that’s still this quick to get into town, and Walthamstow Wetlands is on your doorstep when you need a break from the library. The Bloomsbury residence on Guilford Street is about 28 to 30 minutes from the Holloway campus, by bus or by walking to King’s Cross St Pancras and taking the Piccadilly line two stops. It’s also the best of our options for Aldgate, at about 32 minutes. If your course moves between the two sites, this is the one to look at.

The rooms are single en-suites, double en-suites and twins, each with a private shower and toilet.

If all your teaching is at Aldgate, the journeys are longer from most of our rooms: about 40 minutes from Camden and North Camden, and about 45 from Walthamstow. Bloomsbury, at around 32 minutes, is the closest we have.

Holloway Road is busy and practical rather than pretty. Food is cheap, and the Emirates Stadium is a few minutes’ walk from campus. Our guide to Holloway Road student accommodation covers the area in more detail.

We ask the residence about your exact dates and normally get back to you the same working day with the room, the weekly rate and the total.
