Portobello residence (Notting Hill)

London 1 Room Type From £430/week Bills Included Cinema Room Common Room

Location

The residence is situated on the tranquil banks of the Regent’s Canal in the cosmopolitan Portobello district of West London. The area is renowned for its famous antique market where over a thousand dealers offer everything collectable, from expensive antiques to quirky, fun items and memorabilia. However, if the market isn’t your thing then the area is also packed with restaurants, cafes, music venues and secret and stylish late-night drinking spots.

A short walk along the canal and you are in ‘Little Venice’, which is home to houseboats, elegant Regency white-painted stucco townhouses, waterside cafes, cosy pubs and charming restaurants. The residence offers a free shuttle bus to Notting Hill Gate and Westbourne Park Stations, the latter of which is just over 10 minutes walk away. With its convenient transport links, you will be in an excellent position to travel to school or explore central London.

Facilities

This small, boutique residence is not only brimming with charm, but it also has modern facilities that would match any other premium student accommodation on the market. Every room has been designed as a ‘studio’, meaning they come equipped with an en-suite bathroom with a shower. The private kitchenette has a two-ring induction hob, a ‘combi oven’ and a fridge with freezer.

There is a large common area perfect for enjoying a coffee with friends. If you feel like you need something more active, the free state-of-the-art gym offers some great facilities. If gaming is your thing, then why not challenge your neighbours to a game of FIFA, GTA or catch a movie in the screening room. Of course, only after you have caught up on your studies in the purpose-built quiet study area.

Getting around and nearby universities

Westbourne Park station is a little over ten minutes on foot, and the residence runs a free shuttle to both Westbourne Park and Notting Hill Gate, so getting to class never depends on the weather. From Westbourne Park the Hammersmith and City and Circle lines reach Paddington in a single stop, where the Elizabeth line then carries you across town at speed. Notting Hill Gate adds the Central line for a direct run to Holborn, Oxford Circus and the University of the Arts. Imperial College and the Kensington colleges lie a short way south, and the University of Westminster’s central sites are easy to reach through Paddington and Baker Street. It is a quiet canal-side spot that still leaves you within a comfortable commute of most of west and central London’s campuses.
