Most people know Wembley for the stadium. What students tend to find out once they live here is how quick it is to get into town. Wembley Park station has both the Metropolitan and Jubilee lines, and Metropolitan line trains make just one stop, at Finchley Road, before Baker Street. Central London is closer than the map suggests.
Our Wembley residence
The Wembley residence on North End Road is about two minutes on foot from Wembley Park station. Every room is a private en-suite with its own shower and toilet, a double bed, a desk, a wardrobe and decent storage. You share a fully equipped kitchen with your flatmates.
There’s plenty of shared space: a gym, a cinema room, a games room, a study area, a lounge and an outdoor courtyard, plus a laundry room and secure bike parking. Bills and Wi-Fi are included in the rent, so the weekly price is the full price.
How long it takes to get to university
These are door-to-door times from the residence on a weekday morning, from the TfL journey planner:
- University of Westminster, Harrow campus (Northwick Park): about 22 minutes
- University of Westminster, Marylebone campus: about 28 minutes
- UCL (Gower Street): about 36 minutes
- University of Westminster, Regent Street: about 37 minutes
- King’s College London (Strand): about 47 minutes
- Imperial College (South Kensington): about 50 minutes
If you’re at Westminster’s Harrow campus, which teaches media, art and design, fashion, film and music, Wembley makes a good base, with a much bigger choice of shops and transport than Harrow itself. It also works well for anyone whose classes are near Baker Street or Marylebone, or along the Jubilee line.
Event days
This is the one thing to know before you move in. When there’s a match or a big concert at Wembley Stadium or the OVO Arena, tens of thousands of people come through Wembley Park station. Before and after an event the station gets very crowded, and there are sometimes queues to get in. It’s worth checking the events calendar and planning around it, or walking to Wembley Stadium station or Preston Road instead.
On the plus side, you can walk home from the gig.
Everyday life in Wembley Park
Wembley Park has changed a lot in the last ten years. Most of the area around the stadium is new, with supermarkets, cafés and restaurants close to the station, and the London Designer Outlet right by the stadium for cheaper clothes shopping.
When you want some green space, Fryent Country Park and Barn Hill are a short walk north of the station, with views back over London from the top.
Booking a room
Applying costs nothing and doesn’t commit you. Send us your dates and the address of your university or college. We check availability with the residence for those exact dates and usually reply the same working day with the weekly rate and the total for your stay. Shorter stays of a few weeks are possible too, for summer courses or while you look for somewhere longer term. How booking works covers payment and contracts.
Prices change through the year, so the residence page always shows the current weekly rate. If Wembley is fully booked for your dates, ask anyway and we’ll tell you what else fits your journey.
