Bloomsbury is an area of Central London which is located between Euston and Holborn, and famous for the large number of museums, universities, colleges and language schools. Just moments away from the Eurostar terminal at King’s Cross St. Pancras Station, Cartwright Gardens is also a short walk from SOAS, UCL, Central St Martins, University of London, St Giles, Bloomsbury International, just to name a few.

Locally, the British Library and the art galleries of King’s Place are all on your doorstep. In addition, Camden Town is also close by with world-class music venues, comedy clubs, pubs, bars and restaurants. Famous attractions such as London Zoo, Camden Market, Madame Tussauds, and Regent’s Park are all just moments away.

Rebuilt in 2011, this high-quality accommodation has been commended for it’s outstanding facilities, and won a national award for its design and functionality. Accommodation options include single en-suite bedrooms, townhouses, cluster flats, accessible studios and apartment bedrooms.

The residence now provides in excess of 1,200 student rooms. All guests are able to benefit from the facilities, which include a cinema room, games room, launderette, music rooms, group study rooms, quiet study lounges, dining facilities, four tennis courts and landscaped gardens. The residence is fully catered and able to provide breakfast and dinner. In addition to this, you will find a pantry on each floor perfect for preparing hot drinks and snacks.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I select my room?

You can select the type of room you stay in.

However, you cannot request specific details such as what floor the room is on or who your flatmates are, as the rooms are allocated on a first come, first served basis.

If you do have a special request, please let us know and we will do our best to help you.

Can I view this residence prior to booking?

If you are staying for 12 weeks or longer, we will be happy to request an appointment with the residence team for you to view the residence.

Unfortunately, we are not able to provide viewings for stays under 12 weeks.

Can I smoke in the residence?

Smoking is not permitted in any indoor area in the UK. Please use the designated smoking areas found outside the residence.

Are pets allowed?

Unfortunately, no pets are permitted in any of our residences.

Where can I wash my clothes?

This residence offers dedicated laundry facilities where you can wash and dry your clothes.  

Are bills included in the price? 

Yes, all utility bills are included in the price of the room, including gas, electric and Wi-Fi internet. 

Does this residence have internet? 

Yes, there is wireless internet in every bedroom and throughout the building. 

What’s the difference between Studio rooms and the Single En-Suite room types?

Both rooms have private en-suite bathrooms. The difference is that studios have cooking facilities within the room, while the single en suite rooms have access to a shared kitchen. 

Is there a curfew?

No, there is no curfew. You will be living independently, you will have your own key and can come and go as you please. 

Is there always a member of staff available?

Yes, the reception staff usually work during office hours Monday to Friday. However, when the reception is closed, there will always be a member of the customer service or security team on hand, either to assist you in person or for you to contact by telephone. 

Can I stay in this residence if I am under 18?

Unfortunately, this residence is only available to students aged 18 or over.

On occasion, subject to management approval, an exception can be made for students who turn 18 during their stay.

What is the cleaning schedule?

Kitchens will be cleaned weekly, including rubbish removal.

Individual rooms will not be cleaned and it is up to the residents to keep them clean and tidy.

All bathrooms in common spaces (i.e. ground and lower ground floors) will be cleaned regularly.

How secure is the residence?

The residence is security patrolled and CCTV is used.

Can I bring my bicycle with me?

Cycling is encouraged; there is secure bike storage available on the lower ground floor with capacity to hold a maximum of 600 bikes.
