Portobello residence (Notting Hill)
- Located on the banks of Regent's Canal within easy reach of Notting Hill, Paddington and Little Venice this modern purpose-built residence is right in the heart of student life in West Central London. This residence benefits from a number of excellent facilities including a modern state of the art gym, a common room, a stylish courtyard, a private study area and even a gaming room.
- Each studio comes with a comfortable bed, a private en-suite bathroom, cooking facilities within the room, a desk and chair and plenty of storage space. All studios are expertly and creatively designed to provide a stylish and modern living space in this popular area of London.
Location
The residence is situated on the tranquil banks of the Regent’s Canal in the cosmopolitan Portobello district of West London. The area is renowned for its famous antique market where over a thousand dealers offer everything collectable, from expensive antiques to quirky, fun items and memorabilia. However, if the market isn’t your thing then the area is also packed with restaurants, cafes, music venues and secret and stylish late-night drinking spots.
A short walk along the canal and you are in ‚Little Venice‘, which is home to houseboats, elegant Regency white-painted stucco townhouses, waterside cafes, cosy pubs and charming restaurants. The residence offers a free shuttle bus to Notting Hill Gate and Westbourne Park Stations, the latter of which is just over 10 minutes walk away. With its convenient transport links, you will be in an excellent position to travel to school or explore central London.
Facilities
This small, boutique residence is not only brimming with charm, but it also has modern facilities that would match any other premium student accommodation on the market. Every room has been designed as a ’studio‘, meaning they come equipped with an en-suite bathroom with a shower. The private kitchenette has a two-ring induction hob, a ‚combi oven‘ and a fridge with freezer.
There is a large common area perfect for enjoying a coffee with friends. If you feel like you need something more active, the free state-of-the-art gym offers some great facilities. If gaming is your thing, then why not challenge your neighbours to a game of FIFA, GTA or catch a movie in the screening room. Of course, only after you have caught up on your studies in the purpose-built quiet study area.

Can I select my room?
You can select the type of room you stay in.
However, you cannot request specific details such as what floor the room is on or who your flatmates are, as the rooms are allocated on a first come, first served basis.
If you do have a special request, please let us know and we will do our best to help you.
Can I view this residence prior to booking?
If you are staying for 18 weeks or longer, we will be happy to request an appointment with the residence team for you to view the residence.
Unfortunately, we are not able to provide viewings for stays under 18 weeks.
Can I smoke in the residence?
Smoking is not permitted in any indoor area in the UK. Please use the designated smoking areas found throughout the residence.
Are pets allowed?
Unfortunately, no pets are permitted in any of our residences.
Where can I wash my clothes?
This residence offers dedicated laundry facilities where you can wash and dry your clothes.
Are bills included in the price?
Yes, all utility bills are included in the price of the room, including gas, electric and Wi-Fi internet.
Does this residence have internet?
Yes, there is wireless internet in every bedroom and throughout the building.
What’s the difference between Studio rooms and the Single En-Suite room types?
Both rooms have private en-suite bathrooms. The difference is that studios have cooking facilities within the room, while the single en suite rooms have access to a shared kitchen.
Is there a curfew?
No, there is no curfew. You will be living independently, you will have your own key and can come and go as you please.
Is there always a member of staff available?
Yes, the reception staff usually work during office hours Monday to Friday. However, when the reception is closed, there will always be a member of the customer service or security team on hand, either to assist you in person or for you to contact by telephone.
Can I stay in this residence if I am under 18?
In general, this is an adult residence so available to students aged 18 years or older. However, with approval from the building manager and consent from your parents, we may be able to accommodate students aged 16+ in this residence. Please note however, you will be living alone, in an adult residence and without supervision. If you are under 18 and wish to stay in this residence, it is important both you and your parents fully understand and agree to this.
Can I live with my friends?
Portobello residence can accommodate groups as well as individuals. The studios are designed to be used on a ’single occupancy‘ basis, however, If you’re looking to stay near with a friend or partner we will try and place you as close together as possible.
How secure is the accommodation?
There is CCTV in and around each property, an electronic key fob entry system for the main entrance, common areas, each flat and bedroom. There is also 24/7 or reception team on site.
