The individual blocks are united at ground level by two glazed podium spaces containing the reception area, the management suite and even some shops.

Location

The Manchester Parkway Gate residence is located just off Oxford Road in an area known locally as ‘The Student Quarter’. This area is extremely popular with students due to its abundance of popular pubs, bars, and student friendly nightclubs. The residence is also just a short walk from Manchester City Centre, meaning you will have a wide variety of world-class shops, restaurants and entertainment all on your doorstep.

You will never be far from your school either with The University of Manchester, UMIST, Manchester Metropolitan University, Royal Northern College of Music and Northern Ballet School campuses all within a 5-minute walk of the residence. In addition, there are two large supermarkets both just a short walk or even shorter bus ride away.

The Manchester Parkway Gate residence is a large 729-bed student village proving students with modern, purpose-built accommodation in the heart of Manchester. This residence offers a selection of self-contained studios and single en-suite rooms that are part of a mini apartment. All bedrooms have a private bathroom, cooking facilities in the room or access to a shared kitchen. They also have a comfortable bed, storage for your clothes and a desk/study area

There is free Wi-Fi in every bedroom and there are plenty of vending machines throughout the building, should you fancy a drink or a snack. All bills and contents insurance is included in the price, and residents at Parkway Gate also get to benefit from free gym membership at the nearby Piccadilly Point. There is a secure storage area for bikes and a fully-equipped on-site laundry.

This is a single en-suite measuring around 10m². The room has a comfortable single bed, a desk area and private bathroom, as well as a large wardrobe and under-bed storage. Can I select my room?

You can select the type of room you stay in.

However, you cannot request specific details such as what floor the room is on or who your flatmates are, as the rooms are allocated on a first come, first served basis.

If you do have a special request, please let us know and we will do our best to help you.

Can I view this residence prior to booking?

If you are staying for 12 weeks or longer, we will be happy to request an appointment with the residence team for you to view the residence.

Unfortunately, we are not able to provide viewings for stays under 12 weeks.

Can I smoke in the residence?

Smoking is not permitted in any indoor area in the UK. Please use the designated smoking areas found throughout the residence.

Are pets allowed?

Unfortunately, no pets are permitted in any of our residences.

Where can I wash my clothes?

This residence offers dedicated laundry facilities where you can wash and dry your clothes.  

Are bills included in the price?

Yes, all utility bills are included in the price of the room, including gas, electric and Wi-Fi internet. 

Does this residence have internet? 

Yes, there is wireless internet in every bedroom and throughout the building. 

Is there a curfew?

No, there is no curfew. You will be living independently, you will have your own key and can come and go as you please. 

Is there always a member of staff available?

Yes, the reception staff usually work during office hours Monday to Friday. However, when the reception is closed, there will always be a member of the customer service or security team on hand, either to assist you in person or for you to contact by telephone. 

Can I stay in this residence if I am under 18?

Unfortunately, this residence is only available to students aged 18 or over.

On occasion, subject to management approval, an exception can be made for students who turn 18 during their stay.

What is provided in your en suite room?

En-suite rooms include features such as a private bathroom, a comfortable single sized bed, your own desk for study and Wi-Fi connected workspace.

What is the minimum stay?

The minimum stay is 6 weeks.

How big are the rooms?

Rooms are typically 10 square meters.
