Glasgow’s club and bar scene competes with top cities like Manchester and London. It is no secret that the Glaswegians are extremely fond of their pubs and a good time all round and this residence is right in the heart of the city centre so you will never be far from the action.
The residence is located on Miller Street within the centre of Glasgow where you will find literally hundreds of places to eat out with a variety of cuisines from all over the world – meaning that there really isn’t a need for you to cook EVER! You will find wonderful Japanese cuisine in Ichiban; great food and cocktails at Max’s Bar and Grill, and even a 60’s inspired restaurant in Strata. If you venture out just slightly you will find an even bigger selection of places to eat at George Street.
If you just want some good old comfort food and something a little more familiar there are an assortment of national chain favourites including Nando’s, AST, TGI Friday’s, Wagamama and Five Guys. There is something for all tastes and budgets – making this the perfect residence for all those foodies out there.
Glasgow has an astonishing 35 museums and art galleries, the most popular of them all being The Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum; it is one of the most visited free (yes FREE) museums in the UK and just a 10-minute drive away from the residence.
Live music in Glasgow is very popular and there are a variety of venues which offer live entertainment. The O2 Academy Glasgow is just over a 15-minute walk away from the residence and plays host to loads of famous acts. For a real taste of Glasgow’s music scene visit King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut – which can proudly boast that the band Oasis were first discovered there!
The residence has 181 rooms which are a combination of a selection of En-suite rooms, along with some Studios too. The En-suite rooms all have your own bathroom within the room of which the resident’s then have access to a fully fitted kitchen with a large living/communal area built in which you would share with nine flatmates. There are three different sizes of En-suite rooms within the residence, so depending on whether you have more than the normal amount of shoes, clothes and books you can always choose a Deluxe En-suite to still have room for yourself! Studios include your own en-suite bathroom and private kitchenette. All rooms are fully furnished with a comfortable small double bed (a double bed in the larger en-suite rooms), a study desk with a chair and a wardrobe.
The residence comes with an on-site laundry room and wireless internet in every bedroom and throughout the residence – so you’ll be able to still check your twitter from the Wi-Fi whilst doing your laundry at the same time. As you have everything right on your doorstep without the need to commute extensively, you may wish to utilise those travel moments to incorporate a routine of riding a bike to mix things up from walking or taking the bus – well do not fret about the safety of your bicycle – there is an on-site cycle storage as a little home for your bike!
Not only does your bike get safety within the residence, you will find 24 hour CCTV monitoring along with 24 hour staff presence (whether it is the residence team, or security), so you never need to feel alone or unsafe! You will also find the residence has its own maintenance team who will fix anything that goes wrong in your room at a time that is suitable for you! You’ll never want to leave the residence to go home with the mass amount of support networks you have within this residence!
