Location

The residence is located in the heart of Birmingham’s University district in the popular area of Edgbaston. The residence is just a 15-minute walk from the city centre and within easy walking distance of the cities universities. If you are feeling a little lazy, however, you can also get around thanks to the excellent transport links as well.

Birmingham is thriving with entertainment venues. The NEC, Birmingham Hippodrome, and The Barclaycard Arena are well within easy reach from the residence. The NEC is widely known in Birmingham for staging concerts, sporting events, conferences and much more. The NEC can be reached by train in 10 minutes from Birmingham Grand Central and Five Ways stations.

If you’re a chocolate lover, you’ve come to the right place. Birmingham is home to the world famous Cadbury’s chocolate factory, and luckily it’s only a short 15-minute taxi ride away. Cadbury’s World offers visitors a guided tour, with some delicious free samples – definitely worth a visit during your free time.

Birmingham has 571 parks and open spaces, more than any other European city. One of Birmingham’s most popular parks is Cannon Hill Park. It has loads to see and do and it’s less than a 10-minute drive from the residence.

Features

The residence has 337 rooms which are predominantly Classic En-suites. The Classic En-suites all have your own bathroom within the room which offers you plenty of privacy. Residents have access to a fully fitted kitchen along with a large living area which you would share with no more than five of your fellow flatmates. So you can either enjoy the quietness of your own room, or the sociability of the communal space.

You will find both an indoor and outdoor communal areas within the residence. So on the days when the sun is shining, you can chill outside for some fresh air and top up your Vitamin D; and on the days when it is not quite as nice, you can relax indoors and utilise the wide range of activities that exist. Be prepared for plenty of social experience events every week which involve copious amounts of food, drink and fun.

There is a laundry room onsite, along with a 24 hour manned reception and CCTV. Plus the added benefit of an onsite experienced maintenance team who are on hand to repair anything that does wrong in your room when is suitable for you.

Can I select my room?

You can select the type of room you stay in.

However, you cannot request specific details such as what floor the room is on or who your flatmates are, as the rooms are allocated on a first come, first served basis.

If you do have a special request, please let us know and we will do our best to help you.

Can I view this residence prior to booking?

Yes, you can, however, it would need to be arranged with at least 48 hours notice.

Can I smoke in the residence?

Smoking is not permitted in any indoor area in the UK. Please use the designated smoking areas found outside the residence.

Are pets allowed?

Unfortunately, no pets are permitted in any of our residences.

Where can I wash my clothes?

This residence offers dedicated laundry facilities where you can wash and dry your clothes.  

Are bills included in the price?

Yes, all utility bills are included in the price of the room, including gas, electric and Wi-Fi internet. 

Does this residence have internet? 

Yes, there is wireless internet in every bedroom and throughout the building. 

Is there a curfew?

No, there is no curfew. You will be living independently, you will have your own key and can come and go as you please. 

Is there always a member of staff available?

Yes, the reception staff usually work during office hours Monday to Friday. However, when the reception is closed, there will always be a member of the customer service or security team on hand, either to assist you in person or for you to contact by telephone. 

Can I stay in this residence if I am under 18?

Unfortunately, this residence is only available to students aged 18 or over.

On occasion, subject to management approval, an exception can be made for students who turn 18 during their stay.

What is provided in your en suite room?

En-suite rooms include features such as a private bathroom, a comfortable three-quarter sized bed, your own desk for study and Wi-Fi connected work space.

What is the minimum stay?

The minimum stay is seven nights.

How big are the rooms?

Rooms are typically 11 square meters.
